Molly helping Mommy clean
(notice the shoes on the wrong feet!)
Potty training is going about as well as it was a month ago. Molly still doesn't show much interest in it, but she will go if we pressure her enough! We will probably just end up training Molly and Riley together! ( I really hope not!) Molly is getting so grown up. Her hair is getting really long with curls at the end, and it seems like she knows about 500 words, especially when she is talking non-stop all day long! She likes to help Mommy do everything, including cooking, cleaning, and doing the laundry. She is still sleeping very well in her big girl bed, both at night and at naptime. However, yesterday, she decided to take her pull-up off during her nap and ended up with a wet bed. She told me she spilled water in her bed, but she didn't even have a cup! I'm not sure where she learned to tell stories! She has a new friend at church named Kate who she talks about all the time. Kate also has a little sister named Lauryn who is a week older than Riley, which makes for a very fun play date, especially when you add in our good friends Taylor and Brooke.
Molly dressed as Blue
Speaking of Riley...She is growing like a weed. We go to the doctor for her 9 month check up tomorrow, so we will know how big she really is. She is doing better with eating, and has even decided that she likes to eat squash, but only if Mommy is feeding it to her. She really likes cupcakes with icing and blueberry muffins. I guess she is taking after her big sister. She is also still doing great with her bottle. She likes to hold it herself now, and even gets excited when she sees Mommy making it (what a huge difference from Molly!) She still hasn't mastered the whole crawling thing, but she knows how to get where she wants to go. She is very close to pulling up as well. She will probably just bypass crawling and go straight to walking. Watch out! She is doing great with her sleeping, but doesn't seem to like to sleep quite as much as big sister Molly.
Riley at the 4th of July Picnic at Church
This past week was very busy. We had Vacation Bible School all week. Mommy and her friends Katherine and Julie decided to volunteer to teach the 2 and 3 year olds. Are we crazy or what? One day we ended up having 13 kids! We ended up having a great week, and we think that the kids actually learned something. They were able to sing the little song that we taught them, and they definitely knew they were learning about Jesus, as evidenced by the fact that Molly kept yelling it over and over again every morning!
Our VBS Class
We are hoping that August proves to be just as much fun as July. We are excited about our beach trip with Mimi and Papa in a few weeks. We are actually counting down the days. We hope that everyone is having a great summer. Post us a message and let us know how you are doing.
