What a great weekend! We went up to North Georgia with some of our college friends, the Meads from Florida and the Alexanders from Birmingham. We spent 2 nights camping at Mocassin Creek State Park near Helen. We used to go camping a lot in college, but it is a bit different when you add 5 kids to the mix! All of the kids did great and loved playing together all weekend.
On Saturday, we ventured into Helen for lunch. It was a bit crowded due to the Octoberfest celebration, but we had a nice lunch and a visit to one of Helen's many candy stores.
Before returning home on Sunday, we ate lunch in Dahlonega at the Smith House (can you say yum!) and then went to Burt's Pumpkin Farm in Dawsonville. The kids were in awe over all the huge pumpkins and we had to drag them out of the place when it was time to go.
We had such a great time, and we are already planning our next camping trip. Now if somebody would just come to my house and clean up all this mess!
